Sam Gooding is entering his second year with the Trojan Football coaching staff as Offensive Line Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. In 2015, he served as a Graduate Assistant and Tight Ends Coach, when the Trojans produced a 1st Team All-NSAA Tight End in the most prolific offense in school history.
Prior to coming to Dakota State, Gooding worked three seasons as a student assistant at the University of Illinois and one spring semester as a recruiting assistant. Over his three seasons with the defensive staff, Illinois improved its record each year, culminating in a Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl berth in 2014.
Gooding, a native of Decatur, Ill., graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Secondary Education. He received his Master's degree in Educational Technology from Dakota State University.
Jared Hottle begins his fourth season coaching with Dakota State University football team. He is the team's offensive coordinator as well as wide receivers coach. Hottle went to Central College where he was a student assistant for the football team assisting with offensive line for a year and defensive backs for three years. In addition to coaching duties, he also assisted in coordinating video as well as assisting in both in and out-of-season recruiting for the Dutch.
Hottle was an Economics and Political Science double major while at Central. He completed his Master's degree in Educational Technology from Dakota State University in December of 2014.
Hottle is a native of Waterloo, Iowa.
